( It's been a few days figuring out how things work, wrapping her head around the fact they were in one place and now another. The whole thing is jarring, going from few people to being surrounded a little claustrophobic, and Lottie knows she needs to start reaching out to the others.
[ah, lottie. shauna's missed lottie's particular brand of oddness, even amongst the strangeness that is saltburnt -- so she indulges her, a bit:]
seeing what, lot?
[because lottie could be referring to the typical goings-on of the house or she could be seeing the wallpaper come alive and talk to her. it's hard to tell.]
( Alarmingly to the point for once where Lottie is concerned. She could talk about the house burning down upon arrival, or how things here seemed wildly off, but Shauna's patience had been ice thin back home. Finding out how it is here is imperative. )
seen them before but not this small. back home they're like bricks.
( Lottie has seen the diagrams on the network, that and the idea the others have been here much longer than her means she'll have to tread very carefully.)
i don't know, why wouldn't you be fine? do you remember the visitors?
( Lottie can't disagree with the rich people comment, letting it whiz on by as she focuses on more important things. Everyone remembers everything, which makes conversations just that bit easier. But then what did the other people know? There's already been one person who has spoken about what happened to the team.
Then again, none of it is anything to be ashamed of. For Lottie it's more about others upsetting the balance and status quo of the wilderness than anything else. )
they shouldn't have walked in like that.
how does jackie know? i don't think someone would have told her.
[that's also very characteristic of lottie -- she never really acknowledged the difference in their socio-economic statuses, not unless it was to laugh at another of van's shrill, over-the-top "well thank yew mister matthewssssss" comments.]
yeah kinda dumb of them, huh?
this place is fucked up. it shows our memories to random people she saw the feast.
you're not wrong. hannah helped nat, though. she helped her turn on us.
a bit, yeah she and melissa and travis and nat aren't talking to me i was sleeping in random rooms, but now the house's burned down so i'm sleeping in the woods again.
it won't allow that. after everything it can't be that easy for them.
i know you both had your falling out, and we all contributed to that. but the others aren't innocent, so they shouldn't be singling you out. want company?
@lottie
With the phone(?) that was so nicely gifted. )
are you seeing this?

these phone things are wild, huh?
took me forever to figure them out.
fine.
why wouldn't i be fine.
[answer is: still ice thin, made worse by their close quarters. she's been sneaking around empty tents to sleep, never the same one twice.]
S3 spoilers

spoilers all the way downnnn
they were for like insane-rich people at home, so
u would've seen them.
i remember everything, lottie.
and so does everyone else.
[a pause, then, the heart of the matter:] even jackie.

very. they were going to change everything. i wanted to stay, but if we let them leave they would tell everyone else where we are. were. 🤷🏻♀️
she did? shouldn't be a big deal, she saved us and that should give happiness to a bad situation. are people making it a problem?

[skeptical, in spite of herself, even though lottie's the closest thing she has to an ally here.]
more blankets.
gets really cold out here at night.

( Despite everything going south, Lottie's faith at this point is still unshakeable, the location change only serving to solidify things. )
that's easy enough.
what do you drink out here?

[then again, lottie's been in another world for over a year now, so...]
there's a creek, i remember how to purify water, still.
and there's always a bigass breakfast i can steal from.
